Ann Romney to join Michelle Obama on voting campaign

Ann Romney is set to join former First Lady Michelle Obama in a television special to encourage voting.

Dozens of entertainers and political figures are set to appear in a comedy special to encourage voting led by former First Lady Michelle Obama.

When We All Vote, the nonprofit organization led by Mrs. Obama, partnered with ATTN and Sara + Tom, the production company founded by Sara Gilbert and Tom Werner. They will produce a nonpartisan comedy show, VOMO: Vote or Miss Out, hosted by comedian and actor Kevin Hart according to ABC.

“We have a societal responsibility to participate in our country’s democracy,” Werner says, according to the ABC statement.

He continues, “This nonpartisan special will, through comedy, encourage people to vote this November.”

“Voter participation is in ATTN:’s DNA, and we hope that we can create an event that will speak to all generations, young and old, in a way that shows them that by engaging in the political process, we have an exceptional opportunity to have our voices and values reflected at every level of government,” ATTN: co-founder Matthew Segal adds.

Scheduled to air Sept. 14 on ABC at 10:00 P.M. E.T., the hour-long event will reportedly feature stand-up comedy, music performances, and more. Along with the entertainment, the network states VOMO will air information on voting with emphasis on potential changes caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Ann Romney, wife of Mitt Romney who ran against former President Barack Obama in the 2012 election will appear on the nationally televised special. Other politicians lending their voice to the platform include former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger,  Governor Larry Hogan, and Cindy McCain.

The entertainment lineup is stacked with actors, artists, and more. Atlanta-bred rappers 2 Chainz and Lil Baby are set to take the stage. Cristela AlonzoTim AllenWhitney Cummings, Will Ferrell, Kaia Gerber, Charlamagne Tha GodTiffany HaddishJon HammScarlett Johansson, Liza Koshy, Jay Leno, Jaden Smith, and Willow Smith will all appear on the special.

According to ABC more talent will be announced.
